Company History
Standing in a long line waiting for his daily cup of coffee, student-entrepreneur Parag Shah wondered if there was a better, faster way to get what he wanted. Later that day, he found himself stuck in class with a short break over lunch. He didn’t have enough time to place an order with a desired restaurant, wait for it to be prepared, and enjoy it before his next class.
“There must be a better way,” Parag thought to himself as he sent a message to a friend on his BlackBerry® Curve. Suddenly, the solution seemed obvious. Smartphones are equipped with all the necessary technology to display information such as menu data and accept mobile orders.
Armed with experience and a strong passion for the idea, Parag sought to remedy his lack of technological prowess necessary to take this concept to market. The search was soon over as he discovered Kyle Cunningham, a professional developer, who would redefine the business concept from a mobile ordering business to a complete mobile marketing platform, giving birth to Mxapp, LLC. The team was soon able to establish its back-end systems and was ready to begin development on the smartphone platforms.
As they set up meetings and gained valuable feedback from a huge array of people involved in the restaurant industry, Mxapp was able to piece together a comprehensive solution that could meet the most desired needs for all types of restaurants, including both large chains and independent stores. It was obvious that accepting online and mobile orders is a must-have for restaurants who are looking to remain competitive in our increasingly technology-dependent world. Mxapp offers a solution for helping restaurants begin or continue the shift toward accepting more orders through both online and mobile devices. The smartphone application is called “LunchBox”(™) and allows users to order, review, and share menu items from restaurants near their current location.
The company has quickly been growing as word spreads about the potential of this idea to other young achievers who believe in it. Askar Yussupov joined the team as an additional developer. Sarah Young and Samantha Fung joined as marketing and operations specialists. Mxapp continues to expand, and the anticipated launch of its iPhone®, BlackBerry®, and Android® applications is set to occur in November 2009.
